Portuaria Corral
Industrial Heritage
Valdivia has an important industrial legacy that dates back to its origins as a city. Its rivers witnessed the transit of large shipping companies, and the port of Corral played a fundamental role in trade and defense of the territory. However, the 1960 earthquake caused its complete destruction. It was not until 1993 that the port was reopened by President Patricio Aylwin. Today, Corral Port manages its operations, keeping alive the fluvial and shipping legacy that links Valdivia and Corral.
