Portuaria Corral

Logistics and port company whose terminal is located in the municipality of Corral. Its operations are mainly for the production of wood chips and river transportation. It uses the river to transport chips between Valdivia and Corral and its role is to connect the forestry industry with international markets. It is currently the main exit point for exports from the Los Ríos region.

Industrial Heritage

Valdivia has an important industrial legacy that dates back to its origins as a city. Its rivers witnessed the transit of large shipping companies, and the port of Corral played a fundamental role in trade and defense of the territory. However, the 1960 earthquake caused its complete destruction. It was not until 1993 that the port was reopened by President Patricio Aylwin. Today, Corral Port manages its operations, keeping alive the fluvial and shipping legacy that links Valdivia and Corral.
